Moat — Privacy
Moat does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no third parties.
Moat stores your blocklist in Chrome's built-in sync storage, which syncs across browsers where you are signed into the same Google account. That storage is managed by Chrome; Moat does not send it anywhere else.
Moat requests the all URLs host permission solely so that
chrome.declarativeNetRequest rules can redirect blocked hosts. Moat never
reads or modifies the content of any page you visit.
Moat requests the activeTab permission so the popup can offer a one-click “Block this site” button for the tab you are currently viewing.
The source code is open and auditable at github.com/builtbylane/moat. Questions can be filed there as issues.
